2009-2 The process of tension levelling.

The process consists in subjecting the strip to enough tension to overcome the yield strength of the fibres which compose the material. At the same time it combines this “elongation” with a deformation of the strip caused by the overlapping of the levelling rolls. This combination is what distinguishes this process from traditional plate to plate levelling (or coil to coil) in the so called “multi-roll” levellers with the results from the tension levelling process being more effective. Tension levelling is a more appropriate mechanical system to obtain flat and stable material.
