SWEDISH STEEL PRODUCER SSAB PLACES ORDERS WITH FAGOR ARRASATE

Swedish steel producer, SSAB, the world leader in producing High Strength Steel, has favored Spanish Coil Equipment builder FAGOR ARRASATE with two (2) straightener sections for upgrading their pickle line tension leveler.  The FAGOR equipment solutions will allow SSAB to have greater reliability and enhanced flattening performance. Product from these lines will be distributed by SSAB in Europe and the United States.

The equipment has the capability of flattening up to 1650 MM wide X 12.7 MM strip thickness Hot Roll Black or Hot Roll Pickle and Oiled material.  This is obtained by eight (8) backed-up work rolls with a four (4) over four (4) roll configuration and 150MM roll diameter.  The straightener is fitted with three (3) 90Kw motors.  The equipment is capable of running 1500 N/mm2 up to 6 MM; 860 N/mm2 up to 10 MM; and 770 N/mm2 up to 12.7 MM.

The FAGOR equipment will enhance SSAB’s ability to improve the reliability and performance of their processing equipment.
