FAGOR ARRASATE TAKES A STAKE IN THE CAPITAL STOCK OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL COMPANY RIBINERF

The operation provides Fagor Arrasate with market-leading technology for the automation of part quality control, picking and racking processes

Fagor Arrasate event: FAGOR ARRASATE TAKES A STAKE IN THE CAPITAL STOCK OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL COMPANY RIBINERF

Fagor Arrasate, a company of the MONDRAGON corporation specializing in the development of capital goods for the forming and processing of metallic materials and composites, plans to take its strategy of becoming a world leader in the automation of manufacturing processes to another level by taking a stake in Ribinerf, which specializes in industrial robotics, 3D vision and artificial intelligence to automate part quality control, sorting, picking and racking processes.

With the acquisition of 70% of Ribinerf’s shares, Fagor Arrasate is committed to strengthening its technological capabilities associated with the automation of manufacturing processes. “This is an operation that is fully aligned with our innovation strategy, which is committed to offering increasingly intelligent, flexible and productive automation solutions,” says Unai López Moñux, CEO of Fagor Arrasate. “This acquisition provides Fagor Arrasate with market-leading technology for the automation of quality control, picking and racking processes, which are critical for our customers in the automotive, household appliance and steel sectors,” says Unai López Moñux, CEO of Fagor Arrasate.

Specifically, Fagor Arrasate will be able to count on Ribinerf’s capabilities and know-how, which are focused on manufacturing standardized solutions that solve non-deterministic scenarios, impossible to automate until now. Ribinerf machines do not simply perform the task, but, thanks to AI, they have the ability to make decisions and resolve on their own the incidents that occur in variable production, minimizing line downtime and working with maximum performance, allowing customers to optimize and improve the competitiveness of their processes.

An alliance that will allow Fagor Arrasate to offer solutions to meet the demands of its customers in terms of process automation and quality assurance.

“Automating low value-added processes that until now could only be carried out by people means offering solutions to problems that our customers face on a daily basis. Thanks to the application of robotics, artificial intelligence and 3D vision, these solutions also mean substantial savings in the costs associated with non-quality due to the reduction of defective parts and because batches of parts are not returned by customers. Ribinerf provides us with the capacity to incorporate this type of solution into our products,” explains Unai López Moñux.

For his part, Ribinerf’s co-founder, Xavier Ribalta, believes that the transaction with Fagor Arrasate will give his company access to new markets and customers.
“For us, Fagor Arrasate is a strategic partner that brings solidity to our project and can contribute to our international expansion. Ribinerf will be boosted by Fagor Arrasate’s reputation for reliability and the market share and penetration that it currently has in the deformation sector in the international markets where it operates,” says Ribalta.

About Ribinerf

Ribinerf is a Girona-based company established in 1986 that is dedicated to the development of technologically advanced solutions for the automation of industrial processes.

Manufactures standardized robotic machinery, with 3D vision and artificial intelligence technology, for the automation of parts sorting, binpicking, racking and 3D part verification processes in non-deterministic scenarios.

Its standardized solutions solve scenarios that were impossible to automate until now. The machines designed and manufactured by Ribinerf do not simply perform the task, but, thanks to AI, they have the ability to make decisions and resolve on their own the incidents that occur in variable production, minimizing downtime and working with maximum performance. The implementation of this new technology in the field of industrial robotics opens up a new range of possibilities for automating tasks that until now could only be performed by people.

Ribinerf specializes in automated solutions for stamping and foundry processes, sectors where it has installations in customers such as Stellantis, Gestamp or Fagor Ederlan.
