Mechanical presses are the most widely used stamping devices due to their productivity and reliability. These constitute the best solution for the production of high volumes of pieces in their different versions: progressive for small size pieces, transfer-type for medium size pieces and press lines for bigger pieces, including skin parts. Their applications in cutting (blankings) or forging must not be overlooked either.
The automatic features that accompany these types of presses allow them to operate in an automatic mode, whereby the operators must essentially dedicate their efforts to feeding the presses with coils, formats or production changes.
Servo technology has given flexibility to the mechanical presses allowing them to work in good conditions with materials with special requirements such as high yield strength steels or aluminium, as well as to adapt to parts that require specific cycles.
