Automatic separators for slitting lines

As a world specialist in the design and manufacture of Slitting Lines, Fagor Arrasate’s lines are characterized by high demands in terms of productivity and reliability. In this sense, the reduction of changing times between coils is one of the key parameters to achieve OEE values unreachable with methods used in current lines.

In order to improve the productivity of our customers, in Fagor Arrasate we have developed our own solution through an automatic positioning system of the separator axes.

Advantages:

• OEE improvement: Increase in productivity by reducing changeover time. Changeover time can be overlapped with other operations, maximum time is 2 minutes.
• Reduction of operator hours: Estimated 15 minutes for each changeover, 2 changeovers per hour, 4 hours of operator savings per shift (50% of current work).
• Improved ergonomics and safety: The operator does not need to access the processing areas of the line. In addition, the operator does not use hands, nor does he carry weight.
