Fagor Arrasate, a new member of the German center for AZL, research processes for composites production

Fagor Arrasate will investigate new composite production processes that respond to the needs of the automotive sector

Fagor Arrasate event: Fagor Arrasate, a new member of the German center for AZL, research processes for composites production

Early this year, Fagor Arrasate became an official member of the German central AZL "Aachen Center for Integrative Lightweight production" which studies the design of parts made from lightweight materials, such as composites, and production processes . One of the main objectives for composite manufacturing processes is to optimize costs. Given their relatively high costs, composites are not yet being widely used in automotive applications. In this area, Fagor Arrasate has extensive experience in the automation of printing processes and through this knowledge will help to significantly improve the productivity and profitability of processing composites.

On the other hand, a strict interdisciplinary collaboration between manufacturers of raw materials and production technologies is required, especially in the case of multi-material processes.  For this reason the campus of Aachen allows access to various competitors in this field of applications.
