FAGOR ARRASATE participates in the European project SERVROLL.

New Servo-Control, process design and set-up strategy for holistic profiling optimization

Fagor Arrasate event: FAGOR ARRASATE participates in the European project SERVROLL.

SERVROLL is a thirty-month (30) European project funded by the EUROSTARS program of the European Union. It has a budget of 1.5 Million euros and is led by dataM Sheet Metal Solution (Germany) and the Spanish company FAGOR ARRASATE, jointly with the Department of Advanced Processes of Conformation of the Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea

In May 2016, the launch meeting of the project was held at dataM headquarters; an ambitious project in the area of profiling, where the objective is to design and develop a start-up methodology for the overall optimization of profiling.
Recently, in January 2017, in Mondragón, a second meeting was held to coordinate the work carried out.
At the end of the project, it is intended to have three new products: a new FEM module (dataM), a new Servo-Control Board and associated Control Strategies that will reduce energy consumption, reduce tool wear, optimize sizing of the machines and improve the final geometric quality through Machine Learning techniques (Fagor Arrasate) and a Remote Operator Process Set-Up Assistant for the start-up process (Fagor Arrasate).

The ultimate goal is to increase both the reliability and availability of the rollers and their components in order to drastically reduce the high costs of production stops, rejects in fabricated parts and the premature replacement of forming rollers.
