Fagor Arrasate event: SOUTH AFRICAN NEWSPAPERS COVER WIDELY THE INSTALLATION OF A FAGOR WAVELINE PRESSLINE IN VOLKSWAGEN

South African media has covered with great interest the official opening of the new stamping facility that Fagor has recently installed in the car manufacturing factory that German car maker Volkswagen has in South Africa. All newspapers published the news with wide articles in some cases. Certainly, Fagor has installed one of the most modern robotized press line of the world that includes the new WAVELINE technology, a state-of-the art technological development. This stamping lines includes six presses with a total capacity of 81,000 KN and can manufacture almost 9000 parts per day thanks to the mentioned waveline technology that allows to synchronize in a continuous mode the motion of the presses and the robots, therefore the obtained output is much higher than the achieved in current conventional lines. In the other hand this line can be considered “green” as it consumes 30% less than required previously. Also, the new press line can be set-up to produce a new part in only 5 minutes when other lines need hours to change dies and set up the machines. Particularly, this press line is producing parts for the models Polo and Cross-Polo.

Chairman of VWSA, Dr. Waltl, VW Consortium Stamping Director, Mr. Strutz; mr. Zanosolo Wayile, Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan and Mr. Powels, Operations Director attended the event among many other important persons.
