Spring back automatic correction in benders

Fagor Arrasate benders are capable of automatically correcting for material elastic recovery in real time, independent of the type of material or reference being processed

Fagor Arrasate event: Spring back automatic correction in benders

To date, benders have not been able on their own to know when they are working properly, or when they need to modify or correct the process. This had to be done by an operator through a process of trial and error that depended on the expertise and subjectivity of each person. There was also a need to continually measure angles.  Fagor Arrasate, in collaboration with the Koniker Research Centre, has equipped these installations with technology that enables them to interact with the process, such that they are capable of automatically making corrections to guarantee product quality at all times and in real time.

This new improvement enables production quality, flexibility and working methodology to be enhanced

Fagor Arrasate benders are capable of automatically correcting for material elastic recovery in real time, independent of the type of material or reference being processed. They also control product quality, corroborating that bends are within tolerances or, where anomalies arise, inform the operator which bend is producing irregularities. From now on, the first part produced following a change of setup will be good and any process anomalies are detected and corrected as soon as they are produced.
