The President of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Mr. Barreda, visited recently the factory of GESTAMP in the city of Seseña, a plant that has been upgraded last year. This facility is specialized in stamping and roll forming advanced parts for the automotive market. Mr. Barreda was attended by Mr. Francisco Riberas, president of Gestamp, who emphasized the big international presence of the company in the world,- with 70 facilities in 22 countries and about 18,000 employees- as well as the important increment in sales in spite of the world economic crisis. President Barrera highlighted that Gestamp is a model of business good practices because its innovative and productive style.

FAGOR ARRASATE has been an important partner of Gestamp in this success of the Seseña factory. In the already mentioned upgrading, FAGOR designed and installed a complete automatic line to manufacture beams for light trucks. This complex installation is very flexible allowing to manufacture 42 different models of vehicle. The line includes a complete feeding line with a welding station, 8 presses with dies to make all the holes required in the parts, a system for testing parts based on artificial vision and one laser system. It allows quick changing of tools, so it is possible to go from one model to another in 5 minutes.

Additionally, FAGOR also supplies a line to manufacture beams for heavy trucks, able to manufacture up to 240 different models. This installation includes a feeding line with 7 presses and a complete set of dies, advance roll forming machines with automatic cutting in length, quality control equipment based on artificial vision, laser systems and three hydraulic presses for the final operations.
