MANTIS (Cyber Physical System based Proactive Collaborative Maintenance) is a three years European collaborative project funded by ECSEL program with 30 million
The project is coordinated by the Faculty of Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and is executed in collaboration with 47 industrial and research European partners from 12 countries, which include among others FAGOR ARRASATE, KONIKER and IK4-IKERLAN.
On the 22, 23 and 24 of February the second meeting of the MANTIS European project was held in Lisbon, Portugal; this is an ambitious project related with Industry 4.0 which objective is to provide a proactive maintenance service platform architecture based on Cyber Physical Systems that allows to estimate future performance, to predict and prevent imminent failures and to schedule proactive maintenance. Physical systems (e.g. industrial machines, vehicles, renewable energy assets, health equipment) and the environment they operate in, are monitored continuously by a broad and diverse range of intelligent sensors, resulting in massive amounts of data that characterise the usage history, operational condition, location, movement and other physical properties of those systems.
FAGOR ARRASATE and KONIKER participate in the industrial scenario related to press machine maintenance. With the support of several technological partners involved in the project, FAGOR ARRASATE will incorporate cutting-edge technologies in the most critical components for enhancing press and components robustness and functionality in order to facilitate proactive-predictive maintenance activities. The final goal is to increase machines and components reliability with the aim of drastic reduction of high costs caused by production downtimes with required maintenance repair operations. This technology will improve maintenance strategies, monitoring and analyzing press structural health, cranks forces, wearing of gears and bushings working state.
