FAGOR ARRASATE SUPPLIES AN AUTOMATIC LINE FOR COMPOSITE PARTS TO A CENTRAL EUROPEAN TIER 1

Composite material is widely used for the manufacture of some of the components of electric vehicles due to its light weight and other advantages in mechanical properties, as well as the absence of corrosion.

The line designed and manufactured by Fagor Arrasate consists of a 30,000 kN HCL Short Stroke (Hydraulic Composite Lightweight) press, an SMC decoiler and a press loading robot.

The HCL press is characterized by lower energy consumption than a conventional press, as well as a reduction in height of up to 40% compared to a conventional press of the same tonnage and dimensional characteristics, while maintaining its robustness.

A special feature of this installation is that the hydraulic unit is located in the pit, as these presses do not have a head. However, the hydraulic unit could also be located on a platform, or at ground level, depending on the characteristics of the space where it will be installed.
