Fagor Arrasate's laser blanking system combines a fiber laser cutting machine with an automatic metal coil feeding system.

The laser blanking line provides finished laser-cut parts directly from a coil, resulting in more flexible and efficient production. Compared with traditional blank-fed laser cutting systems, it offers major advantages, such as raw material savings through greater material efficiency, consistent production rates, and a lower cost per part.

Laser cutting technology also significantly reduces energy consumption compared with other alternatives, such as press blanking lines.

  • Reduced installation costs: Significant savings in foundation costs; no pits are required for the loop or press. High-bay buildings with heavy-duty overhead cranes are not required. This makes the installation more modular and transportable if it ever needs to be relocated.

CUTTING SIMULATOR

Fagor Arrasate has developed its own advanced cutting simulation software to optimize the following operations:

  • Preparation of blank nesting and calculation of productivity and material utilization rates.
  • Organization of cutting operations among the different laser heads.
  • Generation of CNC programs and communication with the HMI.

All these tasks can be performed offline, which means there is no downtime during production changeovers.

MULTIPLE HEADS

Multiple heads can be integrated into the laser cell. The modular design allows configurations with 1, 2, or even 3 laser heads in a row. The workload is distributed among the different heads, increasing productivity rates and making the cutting process more efficient. To maintain optimal cutting quality, the laser is equipped with different control systems.

RETROFIT OPTION

Press blanking lines and cut-to-length lines can be retrofitted. Coil-fed laser blanking lines offer the same advantages with a lower investment.
