Fagor Arrasate is currently finalizing the installation and commissioning of a new fully automated line for the production of finished clean laser cut parts from coil at a service center in the U.S. The facility is expected to go into production in April.
The recent incorporation of DanobatGroup’s laser cutting technology to Fagor Arrasate’s portfolio has borne its first fruits with this turnkey equipment, which integrates in a single system the entire process, from the coil to the stacking of the finished clean laser cut part.
The line has an automatic stacking system with robot that picks up the parts in continuous mode (on-the-fly) from 2 different belts, depending on their size. It is equipped with a machine vision system which automatically recognizes the type of part and its position, without the need for prior programming. In this way, it stacks them in their corresponding pile without having to stop, thus guaranteeing the quality of the finished parts with maximum productivity.
For cutting, it has a 6-kW fiber laser which is capable of processing steel up to 4 mm thick. It also incorporates Fagor’s X-GAP system, which expands a gap that adapts to the size of each part for proper evacuation, increasing flexibility and production efficiency.
The U.S. service center chose Fagor’s laser cutting technology because it needed a very flexible solution to produce parts of very different types and sizes, and for different sectors.
